Husband Tag!

#1 Where did we first meet?

Preston and I met at a bar. JUST KIDDING GEEZ! We met on a blind date set up by my dear, sweet, cousin Candalyn. She wanted to double date with her recently returned missionary friend and told me to find someone. When I told her I just didn't ask guys out she said, "okay I'll set you up then". She got this brilliant idea to set me up with a guy named Preston. She said, "you two will be perfect"! "He's a redhead too and is perverted just like you"! WOW, what a compliment! She called Preston and showed him a picture of me (just in case I was dog ugly) and he agreed to go. The date was November 25th, 1995, also my parents wedding anniversary. All three people came over to my apartment from Beaver. We ordered pizza and I made bread sticks and dirt cake to go along. When I first laid eyes on Preston I was hooked! We had a the funnest night! Preston threw Candalyn in the iced overswimming pool at my apartment. He had to because she through his precious "Michigan" hat in first! Later, we went for a ride in his smokin' nice truck (he had to sell it to get married, poor guy). Preston sang some cheesy Garth Brooks song to me the whole night! We watched Dumb and Dumber. He had never seen it so he laughed and laughed and giggled! I remember thinking that his laugh was so adorable! It still is. Anyway, later that night my mom called to see how my date had went and he was still there sitting on the couch so I said, "well, here he is you can ask him yourself"! They talked on the phone and that is how they first met. When he left I walked him out and he kissed me first and then asked for my #. We went out the next day too! The rest is history. Thanks Candy Dandy, I still owe you big time!!!

#2 How long did we date?

We got engaged 2 1/2 months after we met and were married 5 months after that (he had to finish AIT military training in Oklahoma first). TOTAL = 7 1/2 months.

#3 How did he propose?
On Valentines day 1996, he surprised me with a rented LIMO, dinner at "MILTS" and a dozen red roses. All eyes were on us of course when we arrived at dinner in a LIMO which is not my style. I am a tad bit shy, so when the driver locked the keys in the LIMO in the middle of Cedar canyon road I got a little stressed! I wanted to get home and show off the new ring! Preston got down on one knee in front of everyone at MILTS and they all clapped. SUPER SWEET! After we got the key problem fixed we went and picked up my family and then my roommates for LIMO rides. It was so much fun!

#4 How long have you been married?

Almost 12 1/2 wonderful (well, most of the time) years.

#5 What does he do that surprises you?
He is really sweet to plan things on special occasions...like dinner and a massage on our anniversary. He also sometimes leaves the cutest dang love notes for me when he gets home from work @ 5 a.m. He will often surprise me with a mopped floor, vacuumed carpet, and cleaned kitchen to come home to after work. I appreciate him so much! Am I spoiled or what???

#6 What is your favorite feature of his?

Can I only name one??? I love his face. He is so fun to look at. He grows the cutest gotee's. I also love his chest and though he is super skinny he does have the perfect amount of "junk in the trunk" if you know what I mean!

#7 Does he have a nickname for you?

He calls me sweetie and honey. I call him dork butt.

#8 What is your favorite quality of his?
I LOVE his personality! He's not afraid to get wild and crazy and doesn't care who's watching. We love to just be silly together. He is the funnest person to hang out with (unless you take him shopping). If he his cheering on his kids, favorite team or driver one could easily suffer hearing loss if sitting to close to him. He is excited about life and has a happy attitude that is contagious. He is also very empathetic towards others and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

#9 What is his favorite color?

I'm gonna have to go with #48 Jimmie Johnson BLUE and YELLOW.

#10 What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?

We love to go on trips, big or little it's just fun to get away together. Attend the temple together. There is nothing sweeter than getting a wink from your honey in the place you were sealed together for eternity. Working together; even cleaning out the garage is fun when he is there with me!

#11 How many Rug-rats do you have?

We have three sweet reds, and they are the light of our lives.

#10 How old is he?
He is 32. He was born 4 days before me. He says that he jumped down from heaven first to catch me. I couldn't be in heaven without him for very long so I tagged along 4 days later. We were born in towns 45 minutes away from each other.

#11 What is his favorite kind of music?

Anything with a beat. He likes music that gets him excited! ACDC and Elvis are high on the list as well as gospel music! No, I am not kidding. He loves southern gospel music groups that have a bass that sings really low. His fav. group is called "The Cathederals" and they are all really old. Probably even dead by now, but he listens to thier music faithfully. Maybe he was a "jiveing" pastor in another life. He gets teased about his gospel music by his fellow UPS drivers. Gee, I wonder why?????? Well, atleast the music doesn't cuss? Right?

#12 What do you admire most about him?
Many people aren't aware that he was diagnosed with M.S. in 2006. He is such a positive person that he doesn't let it consume him at all. In fact I think I worry way more about it than he does. He endures more than I will ever know and all with a smile on his face. He focuses on the good things in our lives and quietly deals with the other. His work schedule is a rough one. He drives all night long all week long to provide for us plus he travels to SLC every 24 days to get infusions. To put it mildly; He AMAZES me! I wish I was more like him.
I am so blessed to have such a caring and loving husband who takes such good care of me. I feel so lucky that I get to hang out with him FOREVER. I love you Preston.

Tag, you're it!

I don't think I have ever once heard him complain about his stuggles and I know it has not been easiy to say the least. He always has such a positive attitude and I really admire that.
